Finally got cousins system metered....

Post by MobileAudio219 »

We finally got my cousins system metered.

99 durango

2 12" type r's

4.2 cuft tuned to 34hz

hifonics bxi 1200.1 (subs want more power, might switch to hifonics bxi2008d)

4 gauge wiring (about to switch to 2 or 0 gauge)

Weak battery (replacing very soon, lol)

Didnt hit quite get what I was looking for, but with a few tweaks I think I should be right where I wanted it to be...

So yeah, I'll post the number tonight, but I want to get a few guess in first...

So what do you think it did on the termlab???

@ss...

Nobody likes a cheater... :tough

I told my cousin I thought it'd do a 141 db.

I think with a few tweaks we'll get a 143db or really close.

It needs more power, and I'm going to try a different box with aero ports, tuned a little higher.

The guy who metered it played his system for us. He had a 18" kicker solo x and a kicker 2500.1 in his blazer. 250 amp alternator, 2 batteries, ect.

He said it did a 148db with a test tone, or 146 on music. I dont know what he was running components wise, but they sounded really good. Actually the solo x sounded really good, I was really surpised...

Next step, 143db or break.

4.2 cuft tuned to 34hz with 60 sqin of port.

Doesnt 140.7 seem a little low? It was at 46-47hz I believe...

I might try and block the orginal port, and retune to 39-40hz with some aero ports.

Then I'll build your box and have it metered.

It really needs more power or maybe a bigger box?

I might try and find a crx and start taking this a little more seriously, its tons of fun!!! I already decided that I'm buying a termlab and lap top sometime this summer!!!!!

No that's not low at all that's a fairly respectable score. A lot of people assume that 140 is easy and its not and that any 2 12s and 1000 watts should do it. What makes you think it needs a bigger box? Or more Power? if it were me i would make it around 2.75 to 3 cubes and 2 3" aero ports per or around 90-120sq of port. although id be pretty happy with what you currently have 140 in the mid 40's range is awesome still sounds pretty decent and is loud. Unless you want just stupid loud id probably just leave it alone.

I just told him I could get him 140db for around 500 bucks, which I did.. barely! lol

It's decently loud for a daily driver, and sounds pretty good as it is.

It'll probably stay how it is for a while.

I'm really hoping to get a crx and a termlab/lap top to play with.
