Does anyone knows if its possible to eject the detachable front panel without ejecting the loaded CD?

On most recievers you can detach the front panel w/o removing the cd. I have had 3 pioneer h.u.'s and i havent had to ever remove a cd.

I've always wondered if CDs left in HUs overnight can cause any damage. Is it an unfounded myth?

In any event, I always take out my CDs when I go home for the night.

most receivers that have motorized displays can have it removed also.

The slot for loading the CD is behind the display and if you want to take out/put in CDs, you hit a button and the face plate moves down to expose the slot, and after you put in the CD, it goes back into place. And then you can shut off the head unit and still be able to take off the face plate.

I think you mean is it possible to take the faceplate off without having the CD come out? The answer (to my knowledge) is no, as the eject button is also the open button.

it is okay though, once you take the faceplate off the CD goes back in, when you come back the CD is in the same spot (for my at least)

Hey Nist7, i always keep cd's in the h.u. overnight and i dont usually have problems.
As for taking off the faceplate, most pioneers have a separate button for ejecting the cd and for moving the faceplate. But i dont know. I dont see that model head unit on pioneer's website. Any links?

on my pioneer hu, if you hold the open button down for a few, the face will slide down to detach it, with the CD still playing. or do you mean when you shut the car off?
