William, i looked up on the Remington that you were torn over and it appears to have some really major issues with jamming and feeding issues... I know im not a gun expert but thank god i can read... aparently alot of people have had problems with the gun jamming alot with a full magazine, and not feeding correctly due to powerder resedue. Another thing that was mentioned was about the saftey being accidentally locked into the fire position so i would take that as not being very safe.. They mentioned the 10/22 and said that it was a much better rifle with minimal issues.

A Reminton .223 would be a perfect varmit shooter. They are great for coyotes and would probably be great for boars. Plus there are so many accessores you can really trick them out :)Bwcad1 wrote:i dont think you need a 30 06 thats pretty big for small game and targets. 30-30 would be fine. get a big pistol for boars. 357 or 44 with a 6-9 barrell.
guntrader.com or get a shot gun and shoot slugs.

Ok well since the price on the Ruger 10/22 is sooo nice, there really is no reason to not get somethign like that... It looks like its great at 25- 100 yds...
from 25 yds some guy reported that he was putting the bullet through the same hole over and over and over again... Thats gotta be fun for me!

From what i read online at other forums and what other reviewers are saying about .22's they say that for shear fun, accuracy, and budget pricing, the 10/22 is the way to go. If i can pick up a used one for a lil under 200 or a brand new one under 300 i think that will be my next purchase after i get my car in order... Maybe i can split the cost with my brother... hmmm
