What to look for in a rifle?
I'm planning on buying either a 30-30, 30-06, or similar type of rifle soon. The thing is, I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. I'm trying to keep it around $250 if possible (before tax).
It won't be used too often, which is why I don't want to spend a good bit on one.
It would be used for hunting and target shooting. No real large game, but I would like the rifle to be powerful enough to take down boars.
I would like a bolt action, but those are too pricy for me. I do like the Winchester Model 94 and that is one that I'm leaning towards right now. I'm not sure the market price for it, but the msrp is $390. I'm hoping I can get it for less than $300.
Any suggestions or guidance, post away! I'm also looking for an online site with prices. Those seem to be very hard to find for some reason.

I tell you what, I had a friend who loaded shotgun cases with dimes, and when we shot his 12ga, if something was within 30ft of us, it was gone. Took a watermellon completely apart with one shot. it was fun, but expensive LMAO
anyway, you can always use a large marble in a shotgun case too. I swear my friend has tried them all.

lmao!! that is crazy about the dimes. ever taken the gun power out, put it in a ziploc bag and put it in a 2 liter bottle, put on the top, put a fuse to and blew it up? amazingly loud!!! so much fun, takes like 15-20 shells. tell him to try that
