Jonathan wrote:... Most dealers adhere to MSRP if they aren't competing with anyone.
Bear in mind three typical price points, from a retailers standpoint:

Dealer cost = what the dealer pays.

MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) = the lowest price the dealer agrees to ever advertise / label the product, not including special temporary sale pricing
(done so as no dealer damages the overall brand image of the brand in question)

MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) = generally regarded as "the highest price the dealer would ever label a product".

I bring this up, because in my experience (most of the country isn't Miami or Southern California ]below[/b] MAP pricing, if they are purchasing multiple things... or maybe if the salesperson feels he's just going to lose the sale if not.

Not sure how RE dealers are, where they are established, or if there are any specific policies set up between RE and it's dealers...
But IF you have an RE dealer near you, you should still be able to buy that $1600 MSRP sub for more like $900 (or whatever MAP is). ;)

That's still a lot of money for a sub. Most of the kids I've ever dealt with don't want to spend that much on a deck, speakers, amps, subs, wiring, etc., let alone just the sub. In my neck of the woods, people just don't make that kind of money. That's like three house payments.
