cant do much better than that, authorized dealer too. dont worry about the factory renewed, its a safe route to go.
yes there probably is another sub that is more SPL oriented for 160$ over the atlas, but I dont know many spl subs for $160, so i cant help you. maybe kicker comp vrs?
or heck you could get 2 12" Alpine type r-s, a kicker kx 600.1 , and a box and wiring for under $600, that would be a nice setup.

im lookin to get 15 inch subs this time. 15 inch comp vr are 230 bucks without shipping. If there isnt gonna be much difference between 15 inch comp vrs or type r's and atlas 15s then i may as well get the cheaper sub right?

Comp VR's for SPL
Type R's for SQL
Atlas's for SQ
Huge difference between each.

k wet willy :-D then i should probably just get 60 bucks and get the new comp vr 12s at circuit city eh? Instead of messin with all my crap. Im sure they can handle my jbl 1200.1they would be getting about 450 to 500 watts a piece with it at 19 (as high as my head unit goes without distortion)

get the older Comp VR's on Sound Domain if they have em in 15", or on Ebay... same as the new ones just different color.. and cheaper.

didnt see any 15s on ebay, and im worried, my box is only .83 or .80 cubic foot per chamber, the comp vrs need atleast 1.00 per chamber (the 12s). will the still work good in my box or no?

Mith I suggest you get some L7 Kickers. they seem to fit what you want. loud, affordable, and not much concern for SQ. It's the ideal solution for the average "boom car" seeker.

Just make sure if you do get L7's...u dont push them too hard all the time or you will have problems with them.
Take this advice from someone who has had to send back 4 subs to kicker for repair :unwell011

see thats gonna be a problem here cause i tend to push things a bit hard. Omfg though guys. I was in my cousins car last night the dude with 2 sonys. How does his stuff hit so hard, seriously im thinkin about grabbin the same sub and amp combo as him. He had to be hittin 130 - 135 with 2 12s and his home made box, he filled the gaps in it with paper foam and omg it hits so hard, im sure the sound quality isnt that great, but its good enough for my ears. Im gonna look into the l7 kickers the bad thing is im gonna have to get em from ebay, lack of money. So i dunno if its gonna be worth it. Next year if u guys have a gathering again me an him are coming because i want you to inspect his system, he has to be doing somthing right. Also his speakers play louder than mine with no distortion, does his car being a 1998 monte carlo ls and mine just a 1995 cutlass ciera have a lot to do with it?
But before I do anything i think im gonna try to build a large sealed box, around 2 - 2.5 cubes per chamber. Im wondering if its just his box thats givin him so much more spl.
