what? so are you saying your sub has a single voice coil (one set of +/- terminals)? because the link you gave for woofersetc was for a dual voice coil sub, in which case there should be two sets of positive and negative terminals.

You only see positive and negative wires to the terminal on the box? Or on the back of the sub. If it is a dual voice coil sub then you should see a jumper wire between two of the terminals, and 2 wires from the remaining terminals going to the amp. What everyone is suggesting is that you take +- from 1 coil to a channel on the amp, and +- from the other. Don't mix the coils. On each lead there should be some sort of identifier matching it to another lead. Whatever 2 matches are a single coil, and the other 2 belong to the other. Just go +- from one coil to the amp, and +- from the other coil to the amp.
When I open the box to view the sub there were only TWO wires a black one and a red one and these wires were connected to the sub and the box there are no other wires
Ok heres a picture of what im talking about theres one negative wire and one postive wire thats connecting to the box I dont get all this coil stuff yall talking about thats all I see.
So the sub has a single voice coil. There is a chance that on the magnet it may say what impedance the sub is. Do you have a DMM (multimeter, read current voltage impedance)? If so, you can put the DMM leads across the coil and read its impedance. So this could be the problem, if it is a single 2 ohm, then you are trying to run the amp at 1 ohm, which will shut the amp off. Can you take a pic of the sub? Front and back?
