yeah i know . . for hurricane katrina there shop got 8 feet of water and looted on 3 seperate occasions. they were in a 9,000 sq. feet shop. now they are in a little mall location. i think it was good for them, the people who looted them probably got screwed over by them too!!

Airforceyooper wrote:ok, the quick easy way, but least accurate way to set gain would be by ear or to look at the gain dial and set it as close to 2.5 volts as you can. There should be numbers around the adjustment knob. like 2 volts to .2 or something like that.
the more accurate way would require the use of a digital multimeter and test tones.
Matt, where in the North are you?
My head unit puts out 2.5V for the line-out level.
My subwoofer out is 2.0V.

Which one should I adjust for my speaker one? I'm assuming the line-out..

Also.. how do you do it by ear? Just listen to it and set it? The max on my gain dial is 11, so I just set it on around 2.5v?

The numbers around it, start from 0, up to 11.

I just read the manual and they said to turn the volume up to 3/4, and then turn the gain up until theres distortion and then to turn it down until there is no distortion

hum.. with the volume at 37 with my max being at 50.

I heard no clipping or distortion, maybe I need to go to a harder hitting song or something.

If you have any test tones, I'd use that. The clipping will be much more obvious. For subs use about a 50hz freq.
