Heres another fantasic story about the hospital....
A few weeks about my cousin and a few of his friends from work went down to the river. Well theres a big bluff down there, it has a few different stages you can jump off of. If you look at the diagram below you'll see what Im talking about...

My cousin usually jumps off the 2nd stage because it over laps the 1st one so its relatively safe, but him and another kid climbed to the top one because the kid wanted to see what it was like from up there... Well, its a LOOONNNGG ways down and if you do decided to jump you have to get a run and jump hard otherwise you'll hit the stages below... Neither one of them wanted to take the huge risk so they started to turn around to leave when the kid lost his bounce and fell... If you look at the picture below you can see just how big of a fall it is....

Obviously the kid was knocked out. My cousin made a very brave move and jumped down after him, luckly he was able to find him and pull him to the surface.... He said it was the worse thing he's even seen, blood was everywhere.. The nearest place to get him out of the water was about 100 yards away (because of the bluff).... Luckly one of them had brought along a little raft so they used that to get the kid to shore, half way there the kid came to but obviously couldnt swim...
Once at the shore they called an ambulance. My cousin said the kids head was spilt open and he started having still seizures...
The hospital stitched/stabled the kids head up and sent him home later that night... Well after being home for abut 30 mins he starting having seizures again and was rushed to the hospital (he lives in st.louis so he was taken to one of the hospitals up there).... This time he stayed in the hospital for about 4-5 days... The hospital up there said that our hospital should of never of released him, in fact they said he should of been air lifted up there in the first place.... They are indeed sueing the hospital and will more than likely get a very nice settlement...
On a side note: The kid and his parents sent my cousin a very nice thank you card, they said they couldnt believe my cousin did what he did for somebody he just meet... It might not seem like that big of a deal, but its not until you're standing on the top of that bluff until you realize just how scary it is (especially when you see how far you have to jump to clear the *stages* below.).... I'm pretty proud of him for that... :)
I should note thats there are trails going to each bluff....
