lets step back one second a clear a couple things up. first, even if you run front and rear speakers, your front components are the most important and should be the one's amped if your thinking of possibly only running one set of speakers to an amp and the other set off the head unit. second, exactly what components and "high power" speakers are we talking about. it sounds like these "high powered speakers" are rear 6x9s...ryboto wrote:the only problem I'd have then, is that I don't think my headunit will drive the components very well. So, then I'd need a second amp, or run at 2ohms, and lose fade control..I understand my options, and your persistance is convincing me it's a good idea.

I try to avoid advertising the brand that I prefer, because everyone seems to have opinons of them, and then they'll suggest other brands, and we'd get waay of topic. Suffice it to say, I trust the brand, and they've been incredibly reliable over the past, I've just never owned their component stuff before this. The rears are not 6x9's, they're 6.5'', their high-end series of speakers.two4fifteen wrote:lets step back one second a clear a couple things up. first, even if you run front and rear speakers, your front components are the most important and should be the one's amped if your thinking of possibly only running one set of speakers to an amp and the other set off the head unit. second, exactly what components and "high power" speakers are we talking about. it sounds like these "high powered speakers" are rear 6x9s...

audiobahn lol the reason we ask the brand is so that we can get an semi accurate judge of quaility without that we cant really tell you how much power they can take. for instance a pair of jensen speakers say they can take 280 watts but in actuallity i wouldnt put more than 60 on them were as a pair of bravox speakers say 80 watts and i would put 150 on them.
Look, it might be the dumb route to take, but I'm trying for a 4 speaker setup. I know a 2 channel amp limits tweakability, but, I'm silly, and I'm on a budget. My plan is to put high-power midwoofers in the back, and have the components in the front. The brand is blaupunkt, and I'm probably going to get some guff for that, but I've got overdrive components for the front, and i'm using the midwoofers from a component set of velocity speakers in the rear. Call me a noob, flame me, my goal here is to power this setup, without blowing the speakers, underpowering them/running an amp at max, and without breaking my small wallet.

Relax man, your speakers are your choice. But when you're asking for help from everyone, it helps if we have the information on what you're working with.ryboto wrote:Look, it might be the dumb route to take, but I'm trying for a 4 speaker setup. Also, Tang Band makes 6.5 and 6x9 mid/subwoofers. Might screw right in without any modifications in the rear.

hey Bill not to jack this thread but, Do you know of any ways to subtly put mid bass drivers in a car without really cutting into the dash or Rear deck? I know i could do pods but i dont think that it would be wise to do pods in the front for midbass unless u think otherwise
