and just in case you were gonna ask, he has kids so yes the rear seat stayed in, no seating was even compromised in the slightest, no equipment mounted in the bed and it was totally stealth. factory head unit was left in place even.

everybody where I live has at least two trucks it seems.
I find them useful for work vehicles for hauling cargo or tools.
aside from that, not very useful or practical vehicles.
I also find a very strong hick hillbilly stigma with them and don't like pickups in the least.
that's my personality.

you said you ported into the cabin, and nothing is in the bed?
where's this magical 4th order box? under the truck?
To answer your question about "why not a truck" though, you're talking about choosing a vehicle based on building a sound system. It's simply not the best tool for the job. That's all.
There are other vehicles much better suited to audio systems. SUVs and hatchbacks to name two.
If you're going to talk about priorities, and this project being all about the stereo, then it'd seem rational to choose a vehicle that's best for the task. that's all I've been saying.

ok pay attention. that z71 was an example of a truck with a winning sound system, i said it belonged to my boss..i said i had done this magical bandpass in my own trucks in the past. i really dont care what you drive or why...i dont care if you like trucks or think im a hick...i do live in ky. the bottom line is this, i like trucks i dont give a damn if you think what i like and how i like to do it is cool. i realize that you have some respect on this board and that you seem to posess a great deal of knowledge but the bottom line is this... a truck is my vehicle of choice, i guess i could drive an suv or god forbid a civic or something but i dont because i choose not to. this may come as a shock to you, i love car audio and i love cars even more and i love motorcycles even more than cars, i have a lot of interests but the last thing i would ever do is buy my personal vehicle based on how the stereo would sound, custom car audio is exactly that....custom....by the way, speaking of a hick stigma didnt the duke boys drive a charger? yea i know different year but you get the idea......oh and i did also do the truck cap idea once and never will again...its expensive and shitty and yea gads the dynamat you need.....

Was there really any need to get hostile? He was merely stating fact whereas you're stating opinion. Everyone IS entitled to his or her own opinion, but you're trying to push yours off on others...

rednecks get riled up easy when they're drunk..
hahaha just KIDDING
yes the Dukes drove a Charger.. so did Blade.
Personally I think Blade would kick their asses in a bar fight though hahahaha
The bad guys in Bullitt drove a Charger, too.. and drove it off an exit ramp and into a gas station, where it exploded.
If you watch Cartoon netowrk at all, in Adult Swim's Venture Brothers, one of the characters drives a Charger, too.
Come to think of it though, the old guy on Dukes drove a truck.
So did Daisy.
Speaking of trucks, some redneck abandoned a pickup in the front yard of our other house I have to get towed away. smashed windshield, full of beer cans in the bed, left his windows down through a storm.. typical truck for this area.
If you drive a truck and you like it that's great
If your first priority is driving what you like, and the second is the stereo that's fine too.
this conversation was about building a car around a stereo, and my point has been and still is, that trucks are poor acoustic environments for "the ultimate stereo system on wheels"

audiophile...im not gettin hostile and not trying to push my opinions on others, i was merely stating times i had done something that worked for me. i dont care what you drive either. besides i have been on this board long enough to know that the harder you push kiki the more fun you can have because he takes it and dishes it out.....i have no problem with him or anyone else here, i just felt that what i was saying was being misunderstood, besides if you have read anything about kikis charger he and i arent that different. do you really think he chose that specifically to put a car audio system in or because he wanted a hot rod? that he could do both is a bonus....ive owned hot rods and my favorite ever was this short bed F150 i had with a 351 windsor and top loader 4 speed in...and being a ford guy i need to point out that in bullit steve mqueen was driving a stang...and while blade might take the duke boys in a bar fight (so long as cooter wasnt there) blade would get smoked on the back roads of georgia and i will confess that i am not a mopar guy but i dig the 68 (bullit) and 69 (duke boys) chargers....oh and before i go, kiki could you go out in front of your house and roll my windows up for me?

dont mean to bring up an old topic but you are WRONG! kiki............in the early episodes of the dukes of hazzard daisy drove a yellow early 70's charger, in the later episodes she drove a jeep......joe dirt also drove a charger..although he had some superbee parts on it i think ( i may have all my mopar stuff confused)
