Could be a problem in one of the door switches too.

Hah, cutting the power cord is about the only thing left. I sprayed the s*#& out of the door mechanisms with wd40, checked to make sure all the door sensors were operating correctly, my dome light switch is on off, and i removed the dome lightbulb and the two door lights, which solved some of the problem. Now my rear interior lights are staying on and my footwell lights are also on. Also my car doors don't automatically lock when I place the vehicle in gear, which it used to do. So I may have to take the vehicle in, I don't really get how messing with my receiver wiring harness it would screw up everything else. Thanks for the help so far, hopefully someone gets me out of this problem.

do your door locks still function normally?
sounds like something in the dimmer switch went crazy or something in the BCM/PCM/ECU.
try popping the dimmer switch out of the dash and unplugging it. see if that does anything.

Do you have a DMM?
That might help troubleshoot the doorpin to verify if it's even working when you open/shut the door.

jonnyb...the door locks work fine, except when i start the vehicle the doors used to lock, now they do not. I'll try taking out the dimmer switch, but it does still control the other lights(ex. dash gauges)that aren't messed up. chris...no i don't have a dmm but yeah, the doorpin may be a problem. Its weird because 75% of the time the lights will be on and stay on, while 1 out of 4 trips the lights will actually shut off and operate normally.

It sounds like 1 of your door pins might not be making contact when closed (or stuck in the on position)
I have one in the car that does something like that, but will stick in off (or door closed) position.
