Thats seems like waaayyy to much money to spend on speakers. Considering how many ppl on this board rave about the $50 re8's. Even if i had the money to spend on them i dont think i would. You could buy a friggin Kia for that much money. LOL

I'd take a night in a hotel with an ugly chick over a Kia :hitit -> :embarrass . So far I have heard up to the Rainbow Platinums, but I (thankfully :) ) liked the Dynaudios better for my tastes, plus they're quite a few thousand cheaper.

William from NOLA wrote:$10,000 is too much? You should compare them to B&W's flagship floorstand speakers for home audio which are $60,000 a pair. Amplification will run at least $100,000.

The Dynaudio Evidence Master and Martin Logan Statement E2s are above 70,000. It gets EXTREMELY expensive.

For that much they better be made out of gold and sound better than anything else period...

HUH funny thing car audio magazine did a high end component review, dls iridums, alpine spx15m, rainbow references(these), and morel ultimates(or something like that, top of the line) now all of these are top of the line in car speakers, the morels and dls were like 1000$, the alpines 3000$ and rainbows 6000$ and funny thing the reviewer rated the alpines as the best ones, yep even better then the rainbows, by the way they come in a aluminum briefcase and with gloves

It's all subjective. All of those components are top notch, neither are really "better" than the other, all are more than capable of excellent sound quality. It's hard to compare car audio speakers side by side anyway, each have their own requirements to get the best imaging and sound quality, and you definately can't compare them well in a room. By the time you get into these types of speakers, you are mainly choosing on tonality of either and the imaging it can provide, as all of them will have a flat frequency response when set up and EQ'd properly. At least I'd hope you forked out the $$$ to do that if you paid that much for a component system. I personally prefer the Dynaudio sets, the 240 Esotar will likely be the next I use.
