Try it whatever ways you can. It'll probably sound a little different each way.the dawg wrote:I will have the 8 inch Assassins in their own sealed box under the bucket seats in my Jeep. My question is, should they be downward firing(into the floor) or upward firing(into the seat)???
Get a hold of Bill (Bwcad1)... he is more familiar with the Hifonics stuff.the dawg wrote:Anybody familiar with the Hifonics amps ???
The subsonic doesnt really need to be set since the subs are in sealed boxes. But for further reference, the subsonic filter prevents the sub from playing below what it is set at. This is very important for ported enclosures. With a ported enclosure, you dont want the sub playing very loud below its tuning frequency because it will go past its excursion limits. So you will set the subsonic filter a few hz below the tuning frequency.the dawg wrote:Alright, Got the Ascendant Audio 8 inch subs and I installed them in sealed boxes . My question is where should the settings be on my amp(Hifonics BX1000D)?? The adjustment knobs are labeled:subsonic, bass eq, low pass, phase, and level.-----???
Forgot about that one. The general rule of thumb is around 80hz. You can play with it around there to get it to where you think it sounds better.the dawg wrote:What about Low Pass ??This adjustment ranges from 35 Hz to 250 Hz. --??
