Hey, another alternative is Vinyl.
You could also get a sheet of laminate in marble or granite.

I'd agree on house carpet being too stiff. However, it could be done by cutting a piece for each side, instead of trying to "wrap" it around the box.

Painting works too, rubberized undercoating, or fleckstone, or color-shifting paint... whatever you want.

ever see flooring carpet done that way? folded or cut for an edge? it looks awful because the seem is obvious. that's the big drawback to it. Hard to carpet stairs that way too, unless you use rounded edging on each step at the end of the runs.

you could get away with it I suppose, but you're better off with paint, fleckstone, vinyl, or some other means of covering the box.

The fleckstone paint looks nice when you lay down 1 or 2 coats then 3-4 coats of paint that matches your interior, then your toss on 3-4 coats of clear....

If your using cans then I reccommend Krylon paint because it rocks, for spray paint anyways...

Yeah I aint gonna use hosue carpet anymore.

I will just get some automotive carpet from eBay USA,, or maybe someone has suggestions of a cheap online places (i'm just after some black carpet, that wont fall apart after a couple of years)???
