Underated that makes sense. Yeah, I know car manufactures have underated engine performance for years, because of insurance rates. Just imagine if they had no EPA to deal with. Now that would be awesome.

Keep in mind these are still estimates, though. They could change the design at the last minute and downsize the cams, or change the intake, or whatever. Assuming all that has been shown, the 5.4L will be the same as that of the GTs.

i didnt read the responses but I love that car. To me it looks like a 2007 muscle car...I just love the look of it. The interior looks awesome too.

What % of concept cars actually end up in production?

Always been a camaro fan and with hope will one day rebuild a 69 beauty. Not a fan of that concept. It only hold a few small old school lines and needs more. The old Camaros were gorgeous until the 80s cam around and ruined everything. Firebirds and Camaros never made it out alive. To say a Camaro looked like a pinto or a vega is rediculous. Jonathan I love your car audio backround but man do I disagree on that statement. GM is making the right choice reintroducing the Camaro but they need to do it right and scale down the futuristic look to it and try to stick more to the old school lines that everyone loves.

The challenger most likely won't compete with the Mustang. Possibly compete with GT500 Mustang, but not the standard car. Dodge is putting their 425hp 6.1L Hemi in that thing. Every car that has that engine is costing roughly 40K. That is the SRT8 motor. Rumor has it that the 510hp Hemi may come in for the Challenger...if that happens, you can safely bet the car will be in the 50's. On its best day, the GT500 fully loaded would only be about 42K. There really is no comparison. Price wise that is.

performance, well that remains to be seen.

I like the design, but I still don't like dodges drivetrain. The new chargers are sad, hopefully they don't move in the same direction with the challenger. I like the new mustangs. The design for the camaro is ok, just needs some finishing touch ups. I wonder if dodge offers a manual tranny in the chargers, or if they'll offer one in the challenger? To me a sports car should be a stick.

I read that too..but that would have been if the standard engine was the 5.7L Hemi.

I also just read that the GT500 will be around 45 grand, fully loaded around 48 grand.

This new challenger has potential, but I hate the stock stereo design, gonna wreak havok on the aftermarket.
