We aren't blasting you for buying AudioBahn, we just want you to not be surprised if it fails prematurely. There are a good bit of people who luck out and get decent drivers from them.

Well, you can always sell them on eBay or in the local classifieds.
And as for RE, they have an entire line of affordable subwoofers. If you go to the FAQ section on this forum there is a price-list. And of course, in the General Car Audio section, there is a stickied thread on Bang for Buck subs.

another note, RE apparently is in the process of moving. And there have been complaints about people reaching their customer service, especially on the phone.

If you are happy with your setup now, leave it for a while. I wouldn't spend money that you don't need to.

dont start spending money now because once you upgrade your subs you will want to upgrade your amp, then you will get more into the hobby and you will want to upgrade your speakers, then your higher quality speakers will need to be amplified and out will come the new speaker amp, then if you didnt get components you will want those, if you didnt get a decent amp you will want one of those, next you will need two or three sets of RCA pre-outs on your HU so then you will need a new HU.
not saying that WOULD happen to you, but it definetly could. but if you are ready to spend some cash, then you should definetly read up a bit more and research on brands and basic car audio
i would stick with your setup now, you might end up being satisfied and that will save you from future regret of spending the paycheck!

If you have something that is good now, or that you like now, and you still want to upgrade in the future, then take the time to plan out exactly what you want (within reason of course) and set goals to buy the equipment one step at a time. Most people can't plop down the cash for a great sound system all at once. It's easier to choose a sound system when you have the time to plan things out and think with a clear head instead of a new toy clouded vision appeal. Plus, once you get your equipment, you'll notice the benefits of it one step at a time, and you'll have time to focus on that particular item at one time and optimize it for your preferences (such as calculating and building sub boxes, doing finishing cosmetic touches, etc.) instead of the mindset of getting it all in there at once.
Audiobahn isn't really one of my favorites. You can't polish a turd, but you can chrome it :) .

The problem with audiobahn is their business ethics and practices.
they force retailers to sell a minimum quota monthly to retain their license to sell audiobahn gear, which in turn forces places like best buy and circuit city to shove the products down the throats of the typically uneducated consumers.
On top of that, Audiobahn's subs/amps are certainly capable of getting very loud which makes most younger, not-so-affluent kids very happy, but as the volume increases, the sound quality decreases at a nearly exponential rate.
In other words, yes it can get loud, but it doesn't sound so great doing it. I understand that you probably think what you and your friends have is a massive improvement over a stock system, and I'm sure it is. Most who swear by audiobahn have never actually auditioned truly high end or high quality installs and components though, so they have no reference point for their decisions, which makes plenty of sense. You never know what good is without something against which to measure it.
Now, that all aside, the reliability and longevity isn't the best on the market, but they are what I'd consider bottom of the "acceptable" foodchain and above the likes of BOSS, Pyramid, and Rockwood, Soundstorm, etc..
In the end, if you're happy with what you have, and it fits your budget and needs, that's all that matters. Screw anybody who busts on what you have if you're satisfied.
If you want to improve the system, we'd be happy to offer suggestions.
