I know Terry and I both have had good luck with the Planet's and I was trying to mention some comps that are "Good" quality that will easily handle the power without breaking the bank... If price is no option there have been a lot of quality products mentioned above.

Thus my question about going active. Killer speakers for not much money. :happy055:

Most I would POSSIBLY Spend on a set of drivers would be like $1200. That would be the extreme side of things. Closer to 4-600 would be better. If someone could let me hear a set of drivers that just absolutely met my ears with bliss, I'd drop $1200.
Newb response:::WTF is a SEAS???

Seas is a company (
http://www.seas.no). They make a component set called the Lotus specific for car audio which you can check out here:

They also make raw drivers, which is what I was getting at. If you're willing to invest a bit more in equipment and time to setup the system, going with an active crossover can be fun, flexible and extremely beneficial. If nothing else, you will certainly learn a lot.

Alpine has some nice high-end sets.
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/product ... =SPX-17PRO
or that F#1 status set
http://www.alpinef1status.com/e/product ... -z18t.html
I think the F#1 set is based off of scanspeak drivers.

Don't forget about hybrid audio

The clarus set is supposed to be a good drop in set. The legatia sets are supposed to be very nice. You can get the legatias with a crossover as well.

The new alpines F1s are not made by Scan Speak, they swaped about a year ago.
But Genesis does still have a set based on the scan's and they would be a marvelous set to have.
