Some other toys for the Camaro

Post by Purple RS »

Along with the stereo install, there are also other "toys" or gadgets in the car that get comments regularly.

Dakota Digital Gauges custom made for the 90-92 style dash. Dakota Digital stocks only the 82-89 style.

In one of the voids under the dash pad is located the central unit for my Nokia CK-7W bluetooth capable hands free kit. It was a perfect fit and out of the way.

Here is a triple pod fabricated to accommodate gauges for the amplifier (L-R volts/current/temp).

Thank you. Some would argue though that they like the analogue type gauges so they don't have to "read' them and just watch the sweep of the needle. I agree with how they feel, but this is not a race car and never will be :D The gauges go with the rest of the dash and the head unit, I've also changed the light in the defroster switch to match as well as the HVAC control. I added some LEDs to the interior door handles and connected them to the dash light circuit, so that they are easy to find in the dark. :) I'm glad you guys like it, there is also some custom upholstery work sice it was less expensive to go that way than using OEM cloth.
