well wat i did is i wired the sub to give a 4 ohms signal and i turned up the sub setting on the amplifier. that wont overheat the amp, right? as long as the sub is coming at 4 ohms?jonnyb wrote:if you want more bass without damaging your equipment, get a bigger amp or another subwoofer.

If you are referring to the gains, then you could damage something if it's set to high. Use the "How to set gains w/ a DMM" in the faq threads to make sure it's dead onatlbravesfalcs7 wrote:well wat i did is i wired the sub to give a 4 ohms signal and i turned up the sub setting on the amplifier. that wont overheat the amp, right? as long as the sub is coming at 4 ohms?
And that's why I said I didn't want you to take offense... Not saying you were stupid, but some people learn better hands on... And like jonnyb said, you would expect someone that has never looked at a car to try and fix your brakes would you? We're about audio education here

If you plan on learnin yourself a lil car audio... get oneatlbravesfalcs7 wrote:i dont have a dmm
Doesn't have to be a big, bad, expensive one as long as you get a "digital" multi-meter, you can pick one up at Harbor Freight Tools (if ya got one nearby) cheap and they work great :happy055:
