Is it possible to wire a head unit to a AC-DC 12V adapter and plug it into the wall outlet or will that destroy the headunit?

you can use a 12v power supply to run a head unit, thats what car audio shops do (unless your me and cant afford a big one)

I'm gonna eventually get a power supply. Its actually for my home/car audio stereo. I was using a car battery to run my little setup but now the battery won't hold a charge so now I gotta have the battery charger on (connected to the battery) in order to use the head unit.

The amp isn't hooked up. Only the headunit and the speakers are. I just wanted to make sure it would be safe for to try and run the headunit off a AC plug.
