Installing Another amp questions.

Okay, so I have another amp that I just recieved today... I already have an amp & a capacitor already hooked up and running in my car, the problem is... I don't know how to hook up another amp. This amp is going to be used for my highs... Anywho I have a couple of noob questions.

1. Can I run this 2nd amp off the power cable that is already installed? Or do I have to run another cable from the capacitor to this amp? And if so, do I use another breaker? Damn I am so lost lol...

2. Are capacitors suppose to stay on at all time? Cause mines never shut off, could it be my car alarm that's keeping it lit or what?

if you insist on keeping the cap, i have a question about it. Does the cap have multiple outputs?? If it does not, you will want a distribution block. Distribution blocks have 1 in and multiple outs(talking for wire). As long as your power wire is big enough to hold the amount of current for both amplifiers, a distrobution block is all you will need for the power wire. You can then run a chain for your remote wire.... run it from the first amp to the second. And then run a full new set of RCA wires.

as to question 1. What size power wire do you have running from fron to back, and what size are the amps. If your power wire is large enough then you can do a 1 into 2 distrobution block, splitting the power to both amps. Let me know what amps and power.

as to question 2. I don't know, don't use caps. Is it supposed to have a remote wire on the digital part to tell it when to come on and off like your amp.. I'm not sure. I know I had a distribtion block that displayed voltage like that, It'd shut off after like 10 min of the car vbeing off..

looks like a scosche cap? anyway those digital displays come on when there is a voltage spike or drop. it does eventually go off but disarming or arming you alarm will cause it to light back up

The new amp is only an 600 Watt amp... nothing big.

And another question I have is, what's the difference between these fuses? I used the fuse that came with the amp kit....



But my question is, should I use this one that came with the capacitor now that I'm going to be running 2 amps?

I've even disarmed the car all night just to see if it will go off, and it didn't. All I want to know is, by leaving that thing on all day and night, would it damage the cap?

you need bigger wire from the battery back, without a doubt. The wire you have looks like 8g. You definitely need 4g or larger depending on how big your sub amp is. What is the full specs, rms specs, of each amplifier?

i doubt it would damage the cap, but it looks as if your power wire is only 8 gauge, that is most likely not going to be sufficient to supply power to both amps, in addition to the inline fuse not being large enough.
