How do I replace a MOSFET inside the amp?

Hey guys,

I need you help again. I got a new Mosfet to replace it.

Can I cut the 3 "stems" and just solder the the new "stems" to the old stems. I also assume that the Mosfet is glued to the PC board and needs to be forcibly removed. I did buy Heat Sink Compound to glue the new Mosfet to the PC board.

I'm not answering this, actually kind of curious, I thought/heard/ i dunno :) that when mosfets blew you had to replace the entire side?? I'll check back when somebody know the answer

I'm not replacing the entire side, just the one that got messed up.

if one is messed up there are probably a few that are messed up. and no you cant just solider to the stems one it wont work two its just a bad idea. unsolider the orginals and soldier the new ones in. but be sure to check the rest if the source and drain are connected its shorted and will need to be replaced

no offence but if you cant understand what i just wrote you wont be able to repair the amp. send it to a professional.

looks like you have 4 fried mosfets and a fried regulator. ill get to you on aim tonight.

Bill is correct,
When one goes, usually another will. So make sure you replace all the bad ones, otherwise you'll put the new one in. Turn it on, and 'pop' it will blow again.

Also you need to make sure all the components in the circuit haven't been damaged too. Check the diodes, caps, resistors everything.

I doubt i would ever even attempt to try to repair my amp... If i really loved my amp enough then i would pay for the repair on it.
