Matt, I have to agree with ya, I listen to hip hop but alot of older stuff, Krs-one,rakim, epmd, mellow stuff that actually says something, not just pimpin hoes, slammin cadillac doors, sellin rocks and stuff, get kinda old, I just can't relate.

Well thats the mind set in todays youth, just want everything handed to them without doing a thing, or cheat someone else out to get it, and that shows in the rappers, rock n rollers ect. Some things people will do just have some silly green piece of paper.....i could go on and on about that but it wouldn't change a thing.

just remeber... "sex drugs and rock'n roll"... its not just rap, so don't make it out to be that. so many 80s and earlier songs are based 100% off sex and drugs - just because the music is different and the tone of voice is different - doesn't make it any better or worse.

I sincerely hope you dislike 80s rock/metal.

but i think thats kind of generalized to say that a certain type of music is ALL about drugs, sex/disrespecting women, etc.

I do agree with you but i must say that without that green paper you can't get far. religion will get you there spiritually but you aren't going to feed your kids and pay the rent soley off god (unless you preach or are a motivational speaker with books and sets of movies or something.. :-d).

Oh yeah, that three 6 cd was from when they had a much darker style.. which is what i like. what can i say.. put on some 90's three 6 mafia and some slayer (their "god hates us all cd" is the only i've found that i liked) and i'm good.

but yeah, not trying to create a big debate here. so just listen to the christan rap and buy the three 6 cd next time you're at your preferred CD store. compromise ftw! [check out "N 2 Deep", "Anyone Out there" < deffinitely not pimpin hoes, 100% sellin drugs or driving cadillacs. "3-6 In Da Morning" fits that too. "N 2 Deep" and "Anyone Out There" are deffinitely not what you'd hear on the radio.]

Making money the legal moral way fine I hope you are blessed with it. But to rob, steal, cheat, kill, sell your body, that is what I ment by saying what some ppl will do for the green stuff.

I would never support that crap....I know enough about what they do, and rap about that I don't need to hear anything "softer" then what they have out now. All "gangsta" rap have got kids running around thinking that they are a thug....brainwashed by what they see on TV and by the ppl around em...what a joke.
