Pioneer CD Changer

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

Ok, as pathetic as it may sound I have NEVER installed or messed with a CD Changer.

There is a Pioneer 6 Disc changer sitting in front of me. CDX-P650 (circa 2000 area).

Anyhow there are some CDs stuck in the sleeve. We want to get them out, and dont have the ability to hook up this. I have a 12V power supply sitting here also.

There is an IP Bus plug and a white plug with two wires coming off it. Both black, one real long runs w/IP bus. The other is short and have no connector...

Anyone?

just check for resitance with a volt meter. if its a circut the hook it up to the power supply, both ways and see if it turns on. i hate technical terms ie IP Bus. there has to be some simple way of turning it on, its just DC.

the long wire is your +12VDC
the short one is ground.

connect the two to the power supply and hit the eject button.

Take a look inside and see if there is a manual eject. There should be one.

Hope your right Kiki....lol, both wires are black :( - neither are fused...

I have no instructions for this either...

There is a reset button (kind you use a ball point pen) but no manual eject.

I will try again next weekend :) Im back home now :D
