Their house, their cultures. There is likely nothing more to it. It is offensive in their culture to display public affection.brisgreat1 wrote:And I think it's ridiculous about RIchard Gere. They want to arrest him for kissing someone. I know there's more to it then that, but that's literally what happened. I don't know I might be a little bit stubborn.

It's stubborn of cultures to be stubborn towards our culture. They want to live life their way, that's fine, however, if someone from their culture traveled here and continued to live their culture their way, we don't arrest them... Yet when Richard Gere lives our culture in their country all hell breaks lose. Their just as guilty as Richard Gere is in my opinion. If we, as a country, our willing to accept their culture into our country without penatly, the same treatment should be returned.brent wrote:Their house, their cultures. Exactly, thats the nature of the beast. We have a different gov. structure then theirs. We make our decisions as a country, and they do theirs. Our priorities are different. We are interested in their labor. They are interested in their lifes. They choose to do things their way, and when we step into their house we must respect that. We can easily change our expectations as well. What it all comes down to is respect. They are not the only country, any country aside from the U.S will have drastic cultural differences from ours. We must accept and acknowledge it before visiting the country, otherwise we are subject to their laws as they are subject to ours.brisgreat1 wrote:It's stubborn of cultures to be stubborn towards our culture.
