Component speaker amp

Post by nitronostrils »

When running wires for component amp, would it be ok to splice into the power cable from subwoofer amp to get power or would CAC recommend running a separate power cable from the battery to the component amp. Also a recommended 4 chan amp. I'm not on a budget, nor in competion. Just like the music nice, loud, and clean. Thanks.

autotek for the component amp i run the MM100.4 and right now i have it running my 4 door speakers 2 ohm per channel on the front 2 channels and my sub off the rear to channels at 2 ohm stereo. and it does very very well very loud music and the sub has enough power even for me the spl nut lol.

as for the wiring what size is your power wire? and how big is the amp for your sub?

As Bill stated...

Just make sure you use a distribution block... I've seen too many horribly "spliced" power wires that just lead to problems down the road.

^ LMAO... I was the one fixin these lil wiring mis-haps, not the reason for em... funny this should get brought up, cause I just saw this problem last week.... One of those things where they had a friend that helped them install the amps and claimed to know what he was doing... I had to tell them that they were only being their friend if they wanted to burn there car to the ground for the insurance money :p lol
