Dd 6.5

Post by captaincheesey »

How would these do for midbass given that they are fed clean power at their RMS? I plan on buying a couple of these for midbass when I get another car and heard they can be had for like 94 bucks through DD.

They'd probably be some killer midbasses. I mean, it IS a DD woofer. :)

Just make sure you have adequate means of attaching an 11 pound driver wherever you're planning on attaching it. You'll need a lot of deadening as well.

I'm with Jake on this one completely...
DD makes some awesome stuff, but you will definately have to worry about a secure mounting location.

DD mentioned at the USAC finals that the 6.5" midbass could double as a small subwoofer in a pinch. therefore it would need an enclosure, you wouldn't want it in a door. At least that is what they told me.

I have a friend who does all my install while I watch and learn, and help out some. He build kickpods himself and they look pretty nice. So if I get a Grand Prix, I'm gonna have him build me some kick pods for the 6.5 and a tweeter. Should I go with the DD tweeter or someone else's?
