College that im greatly considering
Apprenticeships are not easy to come by, so 7 weeks to get your foot in the door really isn't bad... My oldest daughter had to go to Culinary school for 2 (solid) years just to get an externship at a good restaurant in Florida, then after a year of that had advancement and now works at a different place as Head (Executive) Chef (but it's taken her 7 years to get that far).... So 7 weeks ain't nothin in the grand scheme of things :)

same, only i'm aiming for more cash, and an associates.... i'll do a bachelors later on. My fear is that i'll take out student loans to pay for what i'm going through now, and then not be able to get a right away when i graduate.. and then what... i'll be living on $50 a month for gas, food, etc.

If worst comes to worst, you can live at home with your parents and get a job at a fast food chain. That's obviously WORST case scenario. You should definitely go finish up your bachelors, though.Darthness wrote:same, only i'm aiming for more cash, and an associates.... i'll do a bachelors later on. Friend of mine, well not really a friend, but someone i know. Anyways he dropped out of highschool his senior year this year. He's a real whiz with computers and he's working with a computer company, his dad owns the company, and is making up to 400$ a week ( not consistently 400, sometimes less ). A lot of my friends are friends with this kid... anyways my friends practically praise for the decision he made and the money he's making, thing is it's simple math. He's making *up to* 400 a week which is 800 a paycheck, 800 x 26 is 20,800$ not including tax deductions or the weeks he makes less then 400$. I also didn't mention that he works very odd hours, sometimes working until 8pm on friday nights. The point is he obviously made the right choice dropping out.... not. Stay in school and don't take for granted education, it pays off in the long run.

so i went to the electric comapny today.... they said if they were hiring they would do it...if they were hiring.. but i also went to the GA workforce... and they are looking into paying for my college....so if they just pay for half i got the hope grant and the pell grant.....so that would be free....
I agree whole heartedly... That's exactly the way to look at it... as an investmentDarthness wrote:well you gotta think if thats something you're seriously considering, and will stick with, $850 or what ever isn't exactly being put down the drain, thats an investment in your future, again assuming you follow through and get in the field and stuff.
And many of these types of schools will actually help you to find a job when you graduate (you may have to move though), but it definately evens out in the end result, even if it means that you have to go the student loan route.
