Best 12s
i'm currently running 2 alpine type rs with 1000 watt alpine amp and i wanted to do better than that, they hit hard but i want more< i was thinking about going with the alpine type X and i wondering if i would need to do with dual set up amps and are these speakers at the top in class, if not what is, I looking for loundest system around my way. that i can still actually sit in the car while i play my music. ( right now i'm the loudest or all the peeps at my job, but everybody trying to upgrade to beat me so i guess i will to) and it seems everybody is going with kicker solo baric so i dont want to get what everybody else is gettting. NEED ADVICE
first things first.. what coil configuration are the subs? are they dual 2 ohm or dual 4ohm? what Alpine amp is it exactly? and what kind of box are they in? and what vehicle are they in? i have a 12" Type R in a 3cf box tuned to 30hz with 600rms to it and it does just a little ove 140 on the new TL, if you want them subs to shine, put them in a 5.5-6cf box tuned to around 30-35hz, with around 500-800rms to each of them, and they will drop nice and low and be much louder..

my budget is 1000 My amp is Alpine MRD M-1005 and i have a 02 Grand PRIX with a ported box from ebay
dual 4 or 2 ohms it doesnt matter/ but i have 4 ohms right now in the the type rs
http://cgi.ebay.com/12-DUAL-VENTED-SUBW ... dZViewItem the type rs hit good, im not disappointed with them at all, but i wanna be one top around here. and when you got 4 diff people trying to upgrade to take my title, i say to myself i cant come half steppin. So are the Type Xs the way to go< there some on Ebay new (2) for 480 i can easily sell my type rs for that so really if i got the type x i wouldnt be losing anything i just wanna know what better for that price ( W7, Punch, Daimond)

The box...
You got a $35 box with $400 subs in it. What do you expect? :)
You need a properly built and designed box. Theres no reason you cant be in the mid 140's.
