what sub

my friend has an 05 mustang she wants to put a sub in she has about $100 maybe a lil more for just the sub. what are some good subs in that price range?

fusion or audiopipe, autotek super sports.......hifonics has some in that range.....

i like the looks of the tc sounds stuff how do they compare to jl w1s and kicker comps?

the tc-1000's will rape either one of them if setup properly. The kicker cvr is probably comparable to the tc1000 in output, but falls short to it in sq.

what amp would be good to run a tc-1000 at 2ohms and give it close to 400wrms? is there any around the $100 price range?

search around forums or ebay for something used at that price if you want a decent quality amp. Something from kicker, jbl, dei products(orion, precision power, directed audio), maxxsonics products(crunch, hifonics, autotek) will work well and are usually earier to find used at good prices.
