Need Help From the Computer Experts

Post by JASON96R »

I would like some help with picking out a Laptop computer, in the $750 range. I don't know anything really about computers, but I do like them to be pretty fast. I know $750 wont bring me a top of the line computer but I would like something decent. I found this but would like some more help.

BTW, I don't care if it has XP installed on it instead of Vista. Thanks guys.

Well, i dont know much about computers either, but i have a IBM lenovo thinkpad T-42 and am extremely happy with it, a little bit more pricy, (i think about 1,000 at a computer repair and sales place) Has plenty of bells and whistles, cd, dvd rw. I really like their mouse (called a trackpoint, it is basically a little red dot in the middle of the keyboard that is used just as a joystick would but doesnt move) I think that it would definatly be worth it to spend a little bit more money.

id look for a place to buy surplus computers. alot of companies sell their laptops and desktops after the warranty is up. i just got 6 Pentium 4 2.4 ghz computers with 256mb - 1gig of ram apiece and 40 gig hard drives. the monitors and keyboards and mice were included all for 300 dollars. 50 apiece dollars aint a bad deal.

Bleh, don't go Acer.

Toshiba hands down. Gateway I think I'd put second if you get a higher up model. Sony, Dell, then HP. I wouldn't really look at many others.

Dell had some GREAT offers over Xmas and we got my mom a laptop w/printer and the whole 9 yards for like 400-450 dollars.
Really nice too its obviously a basic computer but with a few upgrades 60gig hard-drive, cd/dvd-rw, celeron pro ..or amd can't remember, decent video card,
brightview screen (I think we added this for 15 bucks) so 450 shipped

Go to these dumb websites like overstock.com and shopzilla.com and there is one more and get the coupon codes.

Usually some good deals on there! Most of the coupons don't last long, but they're worth checking out.
