i just found this forum last night while searchin for the brake bypass code for my dvd player.
i got an extended cab 97 dodge ram 1500
its packin ma audio hard kore series in the doors(3 way 6x9) and in the rear (2 way 5.25"), along with with 2 ma audio hk series 18 inch subs, and one 10 inch sub, two 4000 watt amps. needless to say it took 2 day before i broke my windshield showing it off.
i just orderd the jensen 9511ts it should be here by monday, but before that i was running a jvc arsonal with 12 disk changer.
ill tak some pictures when i finish, im in the process of building a frame for the subs to sit on so they sit flat on the floor, ive had them sittin on 2x4s to make them hold still, i decided its time to build the frame and make it look nice finally.

winshields been fixed, it was a rock chip that had been "repaired" and when i turned it up that little spot became about a 9 inch spider web.

i got 130 alternator (im trying to find bigger, the biggest ive found is 150) im expecting it to kill over, but its been running fine for the past 2 months ive had the system so who knows.

and i got 12 gauge wire running to the speakers in the doors, 8 gauge i believe running to the subs, 0 gauge running to the amps.

i just used 3 single boxes.

the 2-18s are sealed and facing forward and the 10 is ported and facing straight up. then i attached them all together with brackets.
the frame im building is just using wood and im trying to make a flat surface to set them on since the floor of the truck has all the curves and everything in it.

Sounds like one helluva setup, why the jensen? J/K, welcome to the forum. There are many great folks on here who are active competitors in both SPL and SQ. Hopefully we will be able to help you out with what you need.

brent- i posted in the decks section about the jensen

i was looking at the pioneer avic n3, and i realy didnt have the money for it but sometimes u can figure otu a way to get somemoney when u realy want it you know, but then i talked to someone who said they love the jensen head unit and never had any problems with it, not to mention he told me itll read mpegs and that i could download videos and the jensen would play them but the pioneer wouldnt... i know stupid reason but it caught my atention, not to mention liek i said the money i saved 500 bucks

I know quiet a few SPL competitors that have chips or cracks in there windshields and it doesn't get any worse. some of them well over 160db. your story is highly unlikely. first because your running sealed boxes which don't have the potential for the high SPL numbers you would need unless its in a bandpass enclosure. second with only 130 amp alternator your not getting the current you need to supply the power those amp require. each one of those amps at 14v would require 285 amps of current.

haha well time to sound like the villge idiot and admit that i have dont know much about what you just said. like about the 160db and all i know thats loud but havent a clue how loud i dont do any competitons or anything mines all for personal entertainment and the fun of fabricating to make it look good and all.

but who knows the windshield could be anything, all i know is i was cruisin main street and a buddy pulled up next to me and blasted his system so i turned mine up to see if it was louder and the windshield spiderd on me.

by the way you seem to know alot ive seen you reply to alot of stuff on here. what size alternator woud you recomend and were can i find it.. preferably a website i can find it at, because at the moment im in ely nevda, never heard of it? neither has anyone else.
