unless you're looking for a future CCNA/CCNP/A/Network+, probably not :P

im considering MCSE and Security certs too.

Cisco is a goodstart..but Security is where it is at. I would stay away from MCSE...you have to upgrade nearly every two years...and take 7 or so tests each time you upgrade.

Cisco router os's haven't changed much over the years. So I would go for CCNP at a bare minimum. CCIE after about 10 years of work as CCNP. A+ and Net + will only kick in a door..if you are using them for guaranteed employment...understand that the median income of someone with those two certs is about 20K/yr.

Security guys can nearly write their own check. That is where Iwould go if give the chance.

I personally am certified in windows....or maybe I'm just certifiable....

well I am an MCSE, and it isn't worth the hassle.

I am also A+ and Net+ and Linux+ certified, and I don't put any of them on my applications unless the position specifies that they are looking for someone with those attributes.
