Budget Sub and Amp for me brothers honda civic

He has a 97 honda civic 4 door lx with stock speakers and entry level pioneer deck from 3 years ago.

He is interested in a sub or two and is on a $300 budget.

Im thinking of 1 or 2 Infinity Referance 1250w singe 4 ohm vc's or a dvc 4 ohm versian if we go with one. Maybe a 300 rms mono amp or 500-600 mono amp for 2 of them.

He listens to mostly hiphop so it whould be nice to sound clean and have some thump to it. I realize these subs are really efficiant and whould compliment his charging system in that car.

What do you guys think ?

Might want to look into some of the lesser known names like Xsite, Swiss Audio, Audiopipe... really good budget equipment and you get more for your money.

I got some Lightning audio subs from walmart and they are pretty dang good for being as cheap as they are. Fosgate makes them!

$300 for just the sub or for the sub and amp. Check out the brands that cargodz reccommend and add into there Fusion audio. You can talk to cargodz about those brands as he is a dealer. If your brother has $300 for just the sub, you could also look into a Fi Audio SSD. http://www.ficaraudio.com Match that with a 600-800rms amp and he will be set.... if he has the cash for that.

Yeah Fusion is also very good... I was just throwing out some random ones I sell to people on a budget.

Thanks but i rather stick with either Infinity Referance subs or RE Audio RE 12 entry level subs.

I have heard nothing but good things about the infinity's plus they are enclosure friendly. Sealed, Ported or Bandpass.

Again im planning to use his stock charging system for everything. That FI SSD requires way to much power and is to heavy for this application.

Budget is $400 for the sub or subs and amp plus 4 gauge knukonceptz kit.

Either a 300rms amp or a 600rms amp. MONO Class D whould be best here.

He may even need to get a new HU with at least 2 preouts.

ok, well it sounds like you already have your plan. If you buy an RE RE new, you are going to be paying a ton for it. I would tell you to go with an Fi X, but they dont sell them anymore. If you can find one somewhere, I would go with an Fi X. Doesnt weigh a lot, and will do good with 300watts, or probably could take the 600watts too.

TC sounds has a sub right now for $75 for a 12"

For that price range, I dont even think FI can beat it...

Most definitely worth looking into!
