some of the reasons why they close school because it is cold is for the kids. If they stand out there waiting for the bus long enough in negative degree weather, you can get frost bite. And if they kids are still damp from a shower.... that decreases the amount of time to get frost bite. Another part of it is that the buses are diesel and for the engines to be properly warmed up and stuff, they have to sit for atleast 30 minutes.

I had to walk to the bus for school today and wait for it... what a rip off let the kids stay home but i have to free

kids have to walk to school, why send kids out in that cold of weather to get a cold and get everyone else sick? not only that, but sometimes buses won't start cuz of the cold. And you don't have to make up days until you miss five... after five, you have to make them up.

we had -10 to -20 with out the windchill last week and the schools here were still opened.

Not true. Im a senior and I dont have to make up any days. This is the only fuckn year I dont have to make up snow days and it hasnt snowed ONCE.
