JL W6v2 accompanied with which amp?

Post by onept8tee »

i'm getting 2 JL w6 subs and other than the obvious answer of JL amps, what do you guys think about the Alpine PDX amps, any experiences with them? let me know thanks!

I also want 2 amps to power each sub. (Don't judge :) )

Good luck with that one. One small miscalculation, and you can say good bye to your voice coils.

Ok I have to ask, WHY? Your talking about a sub designed to handle 500 watts rms. Why would you want to run 4 250 watt amps when 1 1000 watt amp will do just fine.

They're ok, but for the price of 4 decent 250 watt amplifiers you can get a great 1000 watt amplifier. Plus add the cost and complexity of the wiring for 4 versus the wiring for one, and the RCAs, the effort of installation, so on and so forth. That is the first thing to get past, and if you've already taken that into consideration and have justified getting the 4, then we move onto the next question: what's your max. budget for just the amplifiers?

i'm sorry, what i meant was at the beginning for 2 amps to power both subs so in essence one amp per sub. i read that over and wondered what the problem was. sorry for any confusion and sorry to look like a mexican :) . now im leaning towards the 1000w amp to power both subs. the dilemma is still JL slash or alpine PDX keep in mind that i can get 50% off retail with alpine.

Either one should work equally for you.
The rims on that mexican's car makes it look like he should be in a death race with it. Like the spikes come out of the center to knock other cars off course, and a rocket launcher slides out below the grill. hahahah
