pioneer shallow mount
Hey I just joined the form and I have a 1996 S-10 regular cab. Right now, I have an Alpine Type S 10" subwoofer behind the seat, but I'd like more bass. I was looking at two of the Pioneer Premier® TS-SW124D subwoofers.
Here is a link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/a ... 20,00.html
My questions are,
1. " Do you guys know if these sound good and/or hit hard?"
2. " Are there any subwoofers that you know of that will fit with about 6" mount depth that will hit harder than my Alpine?"
I have searched all over for reviews for this sub but I haven't come up with much. Any help would be appreciated.
-Thank you

1. They won't have that great of SQ, but can go pretty loud.
2. There are a few...
What amp and box will you be using? That will determine suggestions.

The JL W6v2's are too deep for him, not sure on regular W6's though.
Recommended subs:
DD 3510d
JL Audio W3v2 10"
Memphis M3 10"
Illusion Audio's Carbon, Electra, and Luccent series (12" and up, 10's have too low power requirement)
There are other options, I can't seem to think of any, I'll post if I find more.

The w6v1 10's are the subs i was talking about. I know a guy with 1 Memphis hpo(M3 now) behind his seat. Its a sealed box and is a little small but it still manages to hit fairly hard and still maintains the memphis s/q. An re10 wont be as loud as some others, but tuned and built right that might do the job too. There are many posibilities just gotta find what fits what your looking for, but with the experts around here, im sure they will help you. Oh and BTW, welcome to the board, hope you stick around.
Yeah, I looked at the DD and there a little pricey at 330 dollars a sub and they recommend a ported box which I really don’t have room for. I did find some Memphis and JL or sale on ebay for 289 for a pair on each.

If you guys know of a better place to buy speakers at I’d love to know, but at the moment these are what I am looking at.
-Thank you far all the help

The best deals are usually found on ebay, but there are a few sites around there with good prices. Here's what I can rattle off the top of my head:
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com
http://www.etronics.com
http://www.woofersetc.com
http://www.detroitbass.com
http://www.thezeb.com
There is a list of sites in the FAQ section as well.

Will these hit harder than the Pioneer 12" shallow mounts. I pretty sure most of them will sound better in SQ. I know I sound like a complete newb, so sorry, but i'm just trying to pick out the right subs.
Also, I was reading on the form about Adire Audio's 10" Koda, are these on the same level are the other subs? and do these hit hard?
I am learning so much, Thank You.
