Totaled My Car :(

on my way home, i was dribving at nite, ppl in front of me, two deer jump out in front of them, they hit one and slam on their brakes, I slam on mine but I have no time to stop. My car is done a 93 nissan maxima. only worth $1.5k and its deff gonna be more to repair. No car, no system, im 17. my insurance is gonna be a [mess] wow

I guess my car is only valued at $1500 and my parents said theres a 90% chance that the amount of money in damages will be far worse

if the damages are worse than the value of the car they're goign to total it...

anyway, shouldn't they be at fault, not you?

pretty sure if you rearend someone, its your fault period..

yes Scarrell it is, but both the cops and the people I hit agreed that it was basically unavoidable. It all happened in about 3 seconds. My first instinct was to SLAM on the breaks and try to swerve away, but I had honestly no time. I wasnt tailgating him either, it just happened so quick that I ended up hittinbg him. I had my foot down completely on the brake for a good 2-3 seconds too, It just couldnt stop in time

both cars had to get towed, and I dont have collision insurace. Im just thinking about junking the car

At least you didn't get a ticket right? That's a huge relief there. Your insurance and all won't skyrocket.

Nope, no ticket. The people that I hit were actually REALLY cool about it. They didnt seem upset at all because the probly knew there was nothing to do in that situation. They agreed with the cop that no one was at fault and we just exchaned papers. It was weird though, I thought I was gonna be stuck in my car becuase my door was messed up and wouldnt open unless I pushed it wicked hard

yeah they can. Luckily it wasnt a full sized deer, it was two smaller ones :/
