Battery Isolator Info

Post by brentbarrie »

Im looking for an Isolator to use when I add a 2nd battery to run my system off of. I want to get a 200amp.
Looking for any info you can give me about how they work and what kind I need, and where to get it for the best price.
Thanks in advance.

Good find Terry... Well here's what you need (halfway down the page):PAC-200.... and yeah I double checked JCWhitney and they don't have them to 200amps, but Terry (smoker) and I do (obviously they dropped the old line of inverters for the PACs.

You'll also need 2 fuse holders and 0/1 gauge wire, you can see the install graph here: http://www.pac-audio.com/instructions/PAC-200.pdf

i would like to warn against using that type of isolator on a gm alternator though.....the delco alt. needs a specific type of relay otherwise you will blow out the internal voltage regulator.......obviously this is for the late model type used on gm suv's
