Optima Batteries - I don't know squat!

Post by chodecz »

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of replacing the stock battery to a nice Optima redtop. This ad prompted me...
http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=195966
The Model is the top one on this link:
http://www.tayna.co.uk/catalog/114/0/Op ... page1.html

Spec:
Technical Specifications
12V, 50Ah
Cold Cranking Amps (EN): 815 CCA
Reserve Capacity: 104 minutes
Weight(kg): 17.2

Dimensions(mm)
254 Long, 174 Wide, 200 High

Retail is about $300, and that guy wants about $200 for his brand new one.

What should I look for in the battery specs (besides if the dimensions can fit my car)???

My intial amps will be a 1x1600wrms Class D amp and a 2x150wrms Class A/B amp.

Any help will be most appreciated. :)

They go for about $140 at places like pepboys and autozone. $200 is a ripoff.

I'd look elsewhere.

I would definately upgrade your battery. You will see a large difference :)

*shrug* My yellow worked good. My truck always had starting problems and I never had to charge it. My previous standard Interstate battery died constantly.
