Yeah im reading it now. I really dont think I have the gain set that high though....

When I turn it down, the subs sound sooooo friggin weak, and when I keep it the way I have it now, they sound good. No weird sounds, no awkward excursion, no sign that theyre being pushed too hard. Hell, they hardly move :D

Gain set at 90% just automatically alarms me, especially when someone hasn't any idea what the gain is actually set at, that's all. I just didn't want to see you come back and explain that your subs stopped working and your amp doesn't turn on anymore.

lol well if that was going to happen cuz of the gain...how long would it take? I've already had my subs for about 2 months

Yea, that's fine. I love how great my sub sounds crossed at like 65hz w/ a 24db slope.
Your sub could potentially blow at any time. You might have been clipping, you might not have been, who knows. It's just not worth costing yourself another sub (and possibly amp) instead of the 20$ for a DMM.

Yeah i've been noticing alot lately that my subs dont seem to hit as low as they used to be...certain songs like "Thug motivation 101" by young jeezy sound really weird compared to how it used to sound...

It sounds almost wobbly, and like its not hitting the bass completely. Could this be from the gain?

BTW: found out my mom uses DMM's in work but idk if its the same kind

ok wow I guess bass boost wasnt off.....

I thought it was off but its up a little more than half way....wtf. I really hope the guy who installed my amp didnt set up my amp completely wrong cuz I dont want anything to get messed up. It sounds good the way it is except for that minor problem in my post above. When I put my amp to the settings that you guys say is right, it sounds REALLY weak. I dont understand why though.... The amp has Variable crossover and variable bass boost, does that mean the bass boost CAN be on? this is confusing the hell out of me :(

No, don't even bother with the bass boost. It'll just cause more problems.
Did you get the DMM or read the article yet? If it's too "weak" for your taste, then you either need a new enclosure or new equipment to suit.
