I am surprised no one warned him about charging issues..

before you go and blow your money on an amp, make sure you are using proper wiring, get the Big 3, and charging via alternator and quality battery.

Battery isn't going to do squat for you while driving, but, will help out tremendously when it is time to chill in the parking lot with your friends.

Ok...carry on my wayward son....

doesn't mean he is fugged, he can get a local Alt shop to respool his alt to a higher amperage...hopefully.

Haha.... fugged is the right word right now!!

You are going need to invest in a more efficent amp so you dont stress your alternator that much!! I would have to suggest an Autotek MM1000.1 or an Elevation DX1000.1. The Elevation's arent on the site, so email the company for info on them.

And upgrading the big3 will be a must to get the most out for your stock charging system.

I looked on ebay and the MM1000.1 is sold by a few people there but indoaudio is the cheapest. With the crappy reviews indo gets is there anywhere else you can get this for 220ish?

Lol, thanks for the feedback guys. Didn't think anyone noticed this older thread. With that said, I am still on the hunt for a class D amp!

I hooked up two Kicker KX600.1 amps to my lil' car, and the lights dont dim too badly on full wack,, and for normal listening it's fine. I don't care about listening with the engine off, the effort and funds I'd have to put in to listen with it off ain't worth it for me.

I have standard BIG 3, what gauge do you guys recommend, 1/0?? Could I get away with 4 gauge? How easy is it to do? Is it just a matter of locating the standard cables, replacing them and fitting bigger ring terminals??

...So anyway 1200wrms is my limit really. I do like the Hifonics bxi1206d, cheap price and Bill rates them better than the older Hifonics stuff. Autotek is too rare. So I'll wait for a decent bxi 2nd hand on eBay (cheapskate I am :P).
