Good sounding subs?
Good sounding subs?
Is it true that the more effecient a sub is, the better/louder it is? If so, then which sub(s) would be good to run in my BMW? I would like to run 12's. I tried the Lightning Audio Storm 15 inch, but was not very impressed with it.

It'll be louder, but louder isn't necessarilly better... Unless you're Bill Wolf :) Lightning Audio isn't exactly the most prestigious brand around. It depends what your goals are. Do you need a small box? Sealed, ported, bandpass, transmission line, aperiodic? Lots of power to send? Loud or enough to get by? How much money do you have to spend? You need to figure out what you want based on your application.
Ok, I have a Phoenix Gold Ti1000.2 that, according to Phoenix Gold's testing, Pushes out aroound 1450wrms at 4ohms. I had the amp running 2 PG XMax 12's in a ported box and hitting around 145-146.6db in a 95 Maxima. I now have a 1989 BMW 325i that does not rattle with every bass note and would like to run the same amp and use 2 12's to hopefully attain my goal of 150+. Money can be worked around to obtain this goal, although my wife dissagrees with this very much badly.
Phoenix Gold Titanium Series Class A/B 250W x 2 @ 4ohms stereo / 1000W x 1 @ 4ohms bridged
150 is going to be insanely difficult with 2 12s in a trunk car with only 1000w from an A/B amp. as it stands the loudest trunk car in the world is a fellow team maxxsonics guy and hes held that record for 3 years at 154.2
