Misdemeanor

Post by lotas »

So I filled out an app. for an apartment yesterday and the guy calls me today. He wakes me up from a deep nap (so I'm just out of it lol) I try my best to compose myself and he says "Yeah we found you have a misdemeanor so I gotta ask ya about that" and I was just shocked. I said "What? That's the first time I've heard that I have no clue etc" And I probably sounded like some lying kid but what the hell? I've never been pulled over, I've never even been talked to by the cops, I've been there while others have, but I've never given the police my information... never been to court, never had a ticket, or had anything legal mailed to me. What could it possibly be for? You guys ever had anything like this?

I wanna look it up but of course its like a one-time $30.00 fee

You can usually do a record check for free online for the county/area you live in. Locate their website and go from there.

Also who is trying to charge you $30.

If thee is indeed information like that about you, surely you have the right to know it without paying. Maybe a stop to the local cop shop...

^^^ thats what i would do... also i would ask my potential employer where he found this out and if he had any information on it. And be as honest as you can. I have not had one either, but i have been close and never has my record come into question on a job interview. Just track it down and be assertive
