Price of MDF

Post by ZeroAccess »

I just called Home Depot to check before I drive all the way down there yea..I'm that lazy.

Anyways, after talking to 2 different guys in the lumber department they both transfered me to the operator (girl). She knew exactly what MDF was and goes "oh yea, what are you building a sub box or something?". Just thought it was kind of funny how the lumber guys didn't know what MDF was yet the operator girl did.

mdf
20.99
3/4 thick
49inx97in

Anyways thats what she gave me, sound about right? I tried searching online for MDF and found NOTHING :( . A site in australia sells but too expensive and a site in England sells it but S&H sucks.

Only thing I can't do is cut the 17.85 or whatever subwoofer hole
AH SHIT sales man.

how big is the box going to be? I can tell you basically what u need... Plus you should make sure that you get a tapping drill bit and some good screws for it as well as Caulk, or resin or somethig, i find that apoxy works well.

Wait is this for the 18" Fi Sub????

Bill is helping design it but I figure somewhere around 8.0 cu ft
give or take a few inches

I'm getting really antzy and wanna build something so I was going to at least buy the wood or get an idea of how much money I need to steal/lie/cheat for.

40 for wood, 20 for a good tapping drill bit, and like 6 for some good screws
