Anyone use netflix of blockbuster?

Post by Chris from Washington »

Just found out that Dish is going to raise prices again in Febuary (another $3 a month) so their top 180 package will be almost 60 a month for 2 recievers.

So I've been thinking about downgrading to their 60 package (which still has sci-fi and toon network) and then getting Netflix or Blockbuster.

That would be almost the same as what I would be paying for the 180 which only comes with Encore (which I swear only plays diehard 12 times a day)

So just wondering if anyone uses either netflix of blockbuster? How do they like it? One better then the other?

I have used them both. They both utilized a distribution house in-state. So I got a movie I chose in only ONE DAY!! Very fast turn around! We have a stupid mail lady as well, didn't receive a few, they handled that very well! Hard to say which is better, they both have a ton of movies.

Ive never used either, but knew someone who had the netflix I think.

Basicly you get a copied DVD in the cheesy white envelope. They pay postage on it, for what its worth.

Seems like a decent deal, especially if you watch enough movies per month to make it worth while. I honestly should have this as we watch every new movie that comes out pretty much.

umm no, the discs are not "copies." netflix sends an original like-store-bought version of the DVD, just in a paper envelope, instead of the keepcase. when you finish with the movie, it goes back into the resealing envelope, and you send it back on their dime.
the service works very well. I've been using netflix for a year now.

Thanks,
I think I'm going to sign up with one of them, just not sure which one yet.

Funny,
Right after I posted this, I went and turned on the TV and guess what was on again. DieHard I swear they have been been playing this movie at least once a week for the past year!!!

Thats mainly what cable and the dish is, re-runs from everything mid 70-late 80's.

You pay to have a variety of viewing, but its all stuff you have seen a million times!

Must of been block buster then. One movie I put in the DVD wasnt the same as the one I printed, appeared to be a copy. Didnt have the color print on the disc. Maybe litescribed?

I use netflix and love it because we don't watch regular tv and watch dvd's all the time. My wife likes it because the local video store doesn't have much variety and if you want an old b&w you are pretty much screwed and netflix has a huge selection. Also you can send back the movies when you are done and keep the ones you want a little longer for everyone you send back you get the next one on your list. I think it's a great service and we were getting probably 20 movies or more a month at 19.95 a month plus the kids damaged one and we didn't have to pay for it. I think you can't go wrong with netflix

Anyone here have any experience with the blockbuster program?

Looks like you get free movie coupons each week if you use them, and you can return your movies at the store too.

Just can't decide on which program to get.
