System Help/opinions?
System Help/opinions?
Im installing a new system in my full size Ford Bronco. What I have is 1 Lightning Audio Strike S2.500.4 4 channel amp for highs. I also have two Lightning Audio Strike S2.600.2 2 channel amps for subs. They should be around 600 rms from each amp. Im looking for ideas on what sub combinations to go with. Whether it just be two 12's with 600 watts to each? Four 12's 300 watts each? 4 10's or any other combination anyone has ideas on. and everyones opinions on brands of subs and enclosures. I like a lot of bass if I want it. But I also like it to be very clean and tight. I listen to mostly rock. but a little of everything else also. Im going to be putting alot of time and money into the entire bronce with lift kits, paint tires, interior. Wanna build an awesome system so any suggestions or ideas would be great. Right now I have two punch 12's in a prefab sealed box. Dont really care for them. Kinda sloppy sounding. not very tight sounding in my opinion.
If you read around here a little... you'll find that the enclosure that your subs are in is as important as the subs themselves... probably why it sounds so sloppy... If you are looking into going up to better cleaner sounding subs that will get loud, might I also suggest you look into upgrading your amps down the road too. Lightning Audio is great for people with a starter system, but when you start pushing them to their limits, not as reliable as some others...
Might I suggest you bump up to 2 15"s :)

I dont remember saying a box was the second most important.... it really is the most important, especially to us SPL guys.
I would suggest maybe switching out the Lightning amps. If you are going to make the truck all nice, you might as well put some nicer equipment in their. You dont really need 4 subs to be loud anyways. I use 1 15" sub and it is way more than anyone needs for daily use. And figure out some type of budget for this system, that will be a great help.
