Servo powered subs?

I didn't think that was anything all that new. Kinda neat how two opposing drivers are used to balance out lateral forces on the servo shaft however.

Wonder how efficient that belt drive system is. Seems like those lil jokers could get pretty hot and might not last too long, but it looks like they can be easily replaced.

Still, I wonder how popular rubber band powered drivers would be, especially in a bandpass enclosure.

:P

So what...does it work like a piston in a car kinda? Takes something that rotates it and moves it linearly?
If so, wouldnt the 2 subs cancel themselves out since they would be 180degrees out of phase?

From the website:

This precision machined piece is the heart of converting the rotary motion of the motor (RCM) into linear motion that will drive the cone assembly. •It consists of two drive arms that are attached by a series of three belts. As the motor spins in one direction the drive arms pull in, and as it reverses direction the drive arms push out

Not sure exactly what that means, but it appears that these speakers have to be used in pairs and in a bandpass box. I wonder what they sound like

These were released about 3 years ago. Sunfire had a chain-drive sub about 6-7 years ago. it works
