I will be designing and fabricating one over the winter to help in my box making adventure.
I fear the people at Lowes are geting dumber, I mean they be real dumby's.
Seems most cant read a tape measure past 1/4" and if they do, they read it the wrong way. Also the local Lowes Panel Saw suxors as it doesnt cut square. Over 48" its off an 1/8" which I cant accept.
So Im going to dive in. Goal is to build one that can rip/cut and be accurate over 50" by 1/32" or better.
Current idea in my head is to builb the part that moves/holds the saw out of metal and do it at work so it should be super accurate. Then just build the supports at home out of some wooden L brakets...
Thoughts?
BTW I know Im not the first person to do this. Ive found a few plans and places selling parts kits for their plans. But Im not paying $170-$300 for some extruded Aluminium that I can get direct for 1/4 that price
